Round rimmed plate with inlaid nerikomi butterfly design.
Each plate is individually handmade by cutting, assembling and pressing thin shapes of stained and marbled clay bodies into a contrasting slab of clay. The slab is then carefully formed in a mould, dried, fired and finished with a glossy transparent glaze. A playful, decorative, one-off piece which embraces the accidental surprises that occur during the making process.
Some wobbles and irregularities in the form.
